Abstract	Different factors affecting the character of the wear of SiC and SijN4 base ceramic are analyzed. A conclusion is made on a hight wear resistance of ceramics catting slabs silinit-P coating with CrN(CrZr)N. In cutting of steel ШХ15 most effective slabs of silinit-P with discrete multifunction coating.
