Abstract	The problem of the presence of archaic elements in modern variants of the Ukrainian national identity is observed in the article. The problem is described with the help of examples of forming author’s models of the historic memory by Mykola Kostomarov and Dmytro Dontsov. The presence of such archaic elements as sacralization and archetype perception of the past and mythic model of time are demonstrated in the article.
