Abstract	The first rector of Kiev university Mychailo Olexandrovich Maximovich belongs to the prominent thinkers and progressive scientist of progressive scientist of XIX sentury. His creative legacy is great both by the number of the works written number of the works written by him and by the problematic and scientific variety.
