Abstract	The article looks at "pronoun switch", a specific case of anaphoric pronoun use in English discourse, involving personification and he/she swapping with human referents. The switch is based on attribution of prototypical features of one class to another. This attribution is metaphorically and/or culturally determined and tends to reflect and construct sexist stereotypes.
