Abstract |
This article contains some aspects of subjectivation of French interrogative sentences with explicit alternative. Subjectivation, being connected to modality of will, presupposes comparison and appraisal of the interrogative alternative components by communicants. Subjective modality can be realized by the following means: insertion of words and words combinations, various reiterations, emphasis constructions etc., modal verbs such as pouvoir and vouloir, moods of verbs (conditional, subjenctive etc.). The question of the article is not about the opposition of subjective and objective but about their graduated combination.
