Abstract	The article deals with the problem of choice of Ukrainian equivalents of the English deictic pronouns "I" and "You" on different interpretation levels: subject-personal, relative and social. It analyses psychological, sociological, historical, pragmatic factors stipulating the translator's choice of a certain formal personal deixis correspondence in a foreign language discourse and expediency of this choice.
