Abstract |
The problems of numerical simulation of the 3D viscous flows through compressors at design and off-design conditions are considered. The importance of scheme accuracy and grid refinement as well as an adequacy of a turbulence model is analyzed. The influence of a shape of meridional endwall surfaces on the 3D flow structure is studied for a centrifugal compressor. The periodically unsteady flow generated by stator/rotor interaction in an 1½ stage axial compressor is investigated. The numerical results are presented for computations of 3D viscous turbulent separated flows within axial and centrifugal compressors.
