Abstract	The paper deals with the problem of improving the curriculum and methodology of teaching mathematics while training teachers. The aim of the paper is to give an impetus for a serious discussion, to attract attention of all those who are interested in increasing the level of mathematical education, making it qualitatively new in contents, and providing future for mathematicians-researchers, i.е. in training a sufficient number of highly qualified teachers with mathematical thinking, eager to popularize mathematics as a powerful and effective means of comprehending the surrounding world in all its diversity.
