Abstract	In this article first time are lighted life and activity of the gistologist P.A. Polykov, who since 1902-1911 was the holder of the chair of comparative anatomy, embriology and gistology of medical faculty of Yurevsky (new Tartysky, Estonia) University and in 1911-1917 was the holder of the chair of gistology and embriology in Kharkov University.
