Abstract

If you try to compare the economic and environmental indexes of our time, we can note that they reflect two opposing trends. On the one hand, during the second half of the twentieth century there was significant increasing of the world's gross product and the volume of world trade. On the other hand, the accelerated degradation of life supportssystems: forests and soil, atmosphere, water resources, and the most important - reducing genetic diversity of life on Earth.
