Abstract |
Nano-size Au particles deposited over different oxidic supports (MgO, CaO, ZrO2, TiO2, and Al2O3) by wet impregnation method was successfully prepared. Catalysts were characterized by TGA, ICP, BET surface area, XRD, and TEM, and then their catalytic activity were evaluated for the selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol to benzaldehyde. Among all tested catalysts, TiO2 supported Au nanoparticles exhibited the best catalytic activity with a benzyl alcohol conversion of 81% and benzaldehyde selectivity of 95% at 140 °C and 5 bar O2 in 4 h. |
