Abstract	У статті досліджуються аксіологічні лексеми семантичного поля концепту ПОТВОРНІСТЬ на вибірках із тлумачних словників та художнього дискурсу на матеріалі німецької, російської та української мов. Основна увага фокусується на ядерних лексемах hässlich, уродливый, потворний. Було встановлено ідентичну направленість та естетичну значимість аксіологічних лексем при створенні та ментальному сприйнятті художніх образів. В статье исследуются аксиологические лексемы семантического поля концепта УРОДСТВО на выборках из толковых словарей и художественного дискурса на материале немецкого, русского и украинского языков. Основное внимание фокусируется на ядерных лексемах hässlich, уродливый, потворний. Была установлена идентичная направленность и эстетическая значимость аксиологических лексем при создании и ментальном восприятии художественных образов. The main aim of the article is to study axiological lexemes of the semantic field of UGLINESS concept on the basis of sampling taken from explanatory dictionaries and artistic discourse. The tasks are the following to identify information types of ugliness in artistic discourse; determine and compare the structure of synonymic rows of nuclear lexemes (hässlich, уродливый, потворний) representing UGLINESS concept; to determine functioning specificity of synonymic lexemes, verbalizing the concept in artistic discourse. Such research methods as comparative, conceptual and retrospective were used. The object of the research is axiological lexemes of the synonymic row of UGLINESS concept. The subject is axiological lexemes functioning of the concept UGLINESS in artistic discourse used for the creation of vivid characters. The idea of person’s ugliness in artistic discourse of different ethnic groups and axiological synonymic row of UGLINESS concept were studied in the context of ugliness phenomenon. The synonyms of UGLINESS concept have a great aesthetic significance for image elaboration in fiction and can specify, strengthen negative meaning of literary images. The probable types of ugly images and their axiological sphere are the perspective of the future research. It is necessary to study fear and prejudice against ugly appearance and contempt as to commonplace appearance.
