Solar Collectors for Heating the Households in Ukraine: Features and Barriers

Abstract

The dependence on the traditional energy resources, the continuously increasing prices for the energy resources and quantity of the ecology problems are actualized to implement and use the alternative approaches to generate heat for the households. Besides, developed countries are increasing the share of generating heat by the solar collectors. Unfortunately, in Ukraine this process has already started, but it hasn’t been popular yet. While the sun is the most abundant and potentially cheapest source of heat energy, current solar thermal collectors fail exactly when and where demand for heat is greatest – in cold countries during wintertime, and for industrial process heat applications [1]. That is why it is necessary to create the supporting mechanism to spread the implementation of solar collectors.
