Abstract	Здійснено аналіз означень математичної компетентності учнів і наведено означення математичної компетентності як інтегративного утворення особистості, що поєднує в собі математичні знання, уміння, навички, досвід математичної діяльності, особистісні якості, які обумовлюють прагнення, готовність і здатність розв’язувати математичні проблеми і завдання, усвідомлюючи при цьому значущість предмету і результату діяльності. Переконливо доведено, що термін “математична компетентність” потрібно вживати в однині. The analysis of the definitions of mathematical competence of students and provides definitions of mathematical competence as an integrative formation of personality that combines mathematical knowledge, abilities, skills, experience mathematical activities, personal qualities that lead to the desire, willingness and ability to solve mathematical problems and challenges, recognizing thus the importance of the subject and performance. Convincingly proven that the term "mathematical competence" should be used in the singular is build.
