Abstract	Intralingual translation or rewording is an interpretation of verbal signs by means of other signs of the same language. The intralingual translation of a word demands a kind of synonymous word for circumlocution. R. Jakobson was one of the first linguists who singled out three forms of translation one of which was intralingual translation. He points out how difficult it is to come up to complete equivalency because the affected codes make certain difficulty in the translation. Even in rewording it is necessary to use combination of code units to interpret the meaning.
