Abstract

У книзі оповідається про один із українських родів – Шаповалів. Подається історія походження й поширення даного роду, трудового внеску його представників та підтримання ними народних традицій. Основна увага в книзі приділяється трагічній долі п’яти братів-Шаповалів із села Чернеча Слобода (Буринщина в Сумській області), які полягли на фронтах Другої світової війни, та вшануванні їх пам’яті в рідному краї. Книга ілюстрована, вона містить значний інформаційний матеріал. Розрахована на викладачів навчальних закладів, студентів, усіх, хто цікавиться питаннями історії й сьогодення нашої землі.

The book tells about one of the Ukrainian families – Shapovaly. The history of the origin of the family and its distribution, labor achievements of family representatives and their popular traditions are presented. The book focuses on the tragic fate of the five Shapovalov brothers from the village Chernecha Sloboda (Buryn region), who were killed in battles of the Second World War, and commemorates their memory in their native land. The book contains pictures and a significant number of informational materials. The book is intended for university professors, students, school teachers, those who are interested in history and the present time of the native land.
