Abstract	Corporate social responsibility (or CSR) is central to a whole range of concepts and issues relating to businesses and their role in society. It is useful to briefly consider where the idea of corporate social responsibility came from, when and how it has developed. In understanding corporate social responsibility, it is important to examine the genesis of the phrase, its meaning and its application and occurrence in scientific life.
