Abstract	Статья посвящена анализу англоязычных пословиц с концептом WOMAN. В результате проведенного эксперимента установлено, что в англоязычных пословицах представлены такие социальные роли женщины как служанка/maid (4,8 %), жена/wife (53.5 %), мать/mother (15.9 %), дочь/daughter (3.7 %), вдова/widow (15.7 %), мачеха/stepmother (3.7 %), свекровь/mother-in-law (2.7 %). Согласно полученным данным, преобладает роль жены и матери. The present paper analyzes English proverbs with the concept WOMAN. The results of the experiment have showed that such social roles of a woman as maid (4.8%), wife (53.5%), mother (15.9%), daughter (3.7%), widow (15.7%), stepmother (3.7%), mother-in-law (2.7%) are reflected in English proverbs. The experimental data confirm that the dominant the role of woman is seen in such categories wife and mother.
