Abstract	У статті розглянуто зміст роботи з формування інтонаційної виразності мовлення студентів-іноземців на початковому етапі навчання мови. Наголошено на важливій ролі інтонації в процесі спілкування, розглянуто основні типи інтонаційних структур української мови. Доведено, що робота над інтонацією є важливим засобом формування мовленнєвої та комунікативної компетенції. В статье рассмотрено содержание работы по формированию интонационной выразительности речи студентов-иностранцев на начальном этапе обучения языку. Авторы подчеркивают важную роль интонации в процессе общения, рассматривают основные типы интонационных структур украинского языка. Доказано, что работа над интонацией является важным средством формирования речевой и коммуникативной компетенции. In the article the essence of work at students-foreigners' speech intonational expression forming on the elementary level of language studying is observed. The authors underline the important role of the intonation in the process of communication, observe the basic types of the intonational structures of the Ukrainian language. It is proved that such work is the important means of speech and communicative competences forming.
