Abstract |
Today, almost everyone complains about memory problems. Old age is often accompanied by memory impairment. Unfortunately, this problem is also a compulsory companion of diseases such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s. Moreover, even people at a young age may notice forgetfulness in everyday life. The reason for memory impairment lies in the deterioration of brain activity, the deterioration of the excitability of nerve cells, the violation of the connections between neurons. Unfortunately, in most cases this process is irreversible, but modern science and medicine continue to struggle and make notable successes in improving memory in people who are faced with the problem of memory loss. The research, published in the journal Nature Neuroscience, found that age-related decline in working memory can be reversed by stimulating two key brain areas at a specific rhythm. |
