Abstract	In this article the author analyzes what can be expected from the new trade of CO2-allowances. He rises the question as to the price movements process on these allowances. For this purpose he discuses and gives answers on such questions as: what determines this price movements; who benefits/suffers from these movements; does the high volatility make emissions-trade rather ineffective for long-term investments in emissions-saving production technologies.
