Problems and prospects of banking sector development in Ukraine in the conditions of digitization

Abstract

Цифрова економіка бере свій початок із середини 1990-х років. Започаткований у той час мобільний зв'язок і подальше створення Інтернету сприяли розвитку цифровізації як процесу переходу від фізичних до цифрових даних. Такі дані можна копіювати, поширювати, зберігати без додаткових витрат, дублювати, переміщувати, розширювати, шукати, аналізувати, редагувати та покращувати. Актуальність даної теми пов’язана з переходом до цифровізації банківських установ, які є ключовими суб’єктами економічної діяльності країни.

The digital economy dates back to the mid-1990s. Launched at that time, mobile communications and the subsequent creation of the Internet contributed to the development of digitalization as a process of transition from physical to digital data. Such data can be copied, distributed, stored at no extra cost, duplicated, moved, expanded, searchable, analysed, edited and improved. The urgency of this topic is related with the transition to digitalization of banking institutions which are the key actors in the economic activity of the country.
