«Камень громовой или упадший с неба»: до історії падіння та початку вивчення «сумського метеорита»

Abstract

Імпактні події та падіння метеоритів на Землю не є якимось виключним явищем (за добу на нашу планету можуть потрапляти метеорити загальною вагою до 6 т). Утім, кожного разу прибуття «небесного гостя» залишає помітний відгук серед громадськості. Особливо тоді, коли політ комічного тіла до Землі лише кілька разів був відмічений в певній локації. Подібним прикладом є падіння єдиного зафіксованого у XVIII ст. на Сумщині метеориту. Обставини дослідження цієї події та подальше вивчення «громового каменю» – мета даної публікації.

Impact events and the fall of meteorites to the Earth are not some kind of exceptional phenomenon (per day on our planet meteorites with a total weight of up to 6 tons can fall). However, every time the arrival of the "heavenly guest" leaves a noticeable response among the public. Especially when the flight of a comic body to the Earth was noted only a few times in a certain location. A similar example is the fall of the only one recorded in the 18th century. meteorite in Sumy Oblast. The circumstances of the study of this event and the further study of the "thunder stone" are the purpose of this publication.
