Категорія модальності: лінгвістичні та перекладацькі аспекти

Abstract

Наукова робота висвітлює проблематику модальності в мові, зосереджуючись на лінгвістичних та перекладацьких аспектах. Досліджено теоретичні визначення, класифікацію модальних дієслів та виразів, а також способи їх вираження. Основна увага приділяється вивченню ефективних методів перекладу модальних конструкцій у текстах різних стилів. Дослідницька методика охоплює аналіз лінгвістичних джерел, порівняльний аналіз перекладів та емпіричні дослідження для збагачення розуміння модальності у різних мовних контекстах. Головна мета полягає у дослідженні засобів вираження модальності в англійському та українському текстах, а також вдосконаленні знань про еквіваленти модальних дієслів у процесі перекладу. Робота також розглядає можливості досягнення еквівалентності у процесі перекладу модальних дієслів з англійської на українську мову, а також аналізує формування іншомовної граматичної компетенції. Обсяг роботи складає 69 сторінок, включаючи резюме. У роботі використані дві схеми та два малюнки для наочного представлення та підтримки обгрунтувань. Малюнки та схеми візуалізують ключові моменти аналізу та розкривають лінгвістичні особливості досліджуваних модальних конструкцій. Результати дослідження висвітлюють інноваційний погляд на явище модальності та її роль у різних текстових жанрах. Робота відкриває нові горизонти в розумінні модальності, зокрема в контексті перекладу та впливу на сприйняття текстів. Дослідження пройшло кілька ключових етапів, включаючи аналіз теоретичних джерел, класифікацію модальних дієслів, дослідження впливу на переклад та створення висновків. Робота насичена цитатами та прикладами, що робить її вагомим внеском у вивчення модальності.

The scientific work highlights the problems of modality in language, focusing on linguistic and translation aspects. Theoretical definitions, classification of modal verbs and expressions, as well as ways of their expression were studied. The main attention is paid to the study of effective methods of translation of modal constructions in texts of different styles. The research methodology includes the analysis of linguistic sources, comparative analysis of translations and empirical studies to enrich the understanding of modality in different linguistic contexts. The main goal is to study the means of expressing modality in English and Ukrainian texts, as well as to improve knowledge about the equivalents of modal verbs in the process of translation. The work also examines the possibilities of achieving equivalence in the process of translating modal verbs from English to Ukrainian, as well as analyzes the formation of foreign language grammatical competence. The volume of the work is 69 pages, including the summary. The are two schemes and two drawings for visual representation and support of justifications. Drawings and diagrams visualize the key points of the analysis and reveal the linguistic features of the studied modal constructions. The results of the study highlight an innovative view of the phenomenon of modality and its role in various text genres. The work opens new horizons in the understanding of modality, in particular in the context of translation and its influence on the perception of texts. The study went through several key stages, including the analysis of theoretical sources, the classification of modal verbs, the study of the impact on translation, and the creation of conclusions. The work is full of quotations and examples, making it a significant contribution to the study of modality.
