Відтворення вербалізованого образу Жінки в українському перекладі роману-антиутопії М. Етвуд «Оповідь служниці»

Abstract

Мета: комплексний аналіз вербальних засобів вираження образу «жінка» в романі-антиутопії Маргарет Етвуд «Розповідь служниці». Теоретичне значення полягає в здатності синтаксичних засобів створювати логічну послідовність подій, підкреслювати важливі моменти, розвивати характери персонажів та створювати емоційне навантаження тексту.

Ключові слова: переклад, синтаксичні засоби, роль жінки.

В процесі роботи над нашим дослідженням ми виконували поставлені завдання: - дослідити основні поняття: «образу жінки» та «образу зовнішнього вигляду жінки»; - дізнатися, які способи перекладу використано у перекладі Олени Оксенич; - зрозуміти, чи зберіг перекладач усі риси та особливості опису жіночих образів; - проаналізувати комплекс мовних засобів вербалізації досліджуваного образу у творі.

Таким чином, було порівняно оригінальний текст та український варіант перекладу. Головним завданням перекладача було зберегти образ головної героїні та майстерно відтворити зміни її свідомості. Українська мова надає більше можливостей для передачі структури оригіналу, тому О. Оксенич вдало відображає внутрішній стан головних героїв, їхні думки. В образі «зовнішності жінки» розкриваються розлогі описи зовнішності персонажів з епітетами, порівняннями, символами та метафорами. Образність жінки повністю збережена і передається в перекладі. Автор також описує роль жінки через її опис, особливо тіла.

Ми вбачаємо перспективу перекладацького аналізу творів Маргарет Етвуд, адже вони мають значний потенціал для подальших досліджень. Її книги розглядаються у контексті фемінізму, досліджуючи теми статевих стереотипів, ролі жінок у суспільстві та владі. Додаткове дослідження може фокусуватися на аналізі політичних, соціальних та екологічних аспектів у її творах, а також на вивченні способів, якими вона використовує наукову фантастику для висвітлення актуальних проблем сучасності. Переклад творів Маргарет Етвуд відіграє важливу роль у впровадженні її ідей та концепцій у мови різних культур. Перекладачі стикаються з викликами передачі унікального стилю письма та нюансів, які є важливими для збереження сенсу та емоційної глибини оригіналу. Аналіз перекладів дозволяє розуміти, як твори Етвуд сприймаються та інтерпретуються у різних культурах і мовних середовищах. Такі дослідження допомагають розкрити вплив творчості письменниці на різні аудиторії та розширити її світове розуміння.

The purpose of the work is a comprehensive analysis of the verbal means of expression of the image of "woman" in Margaret Atwood‘s dystopian novel «The Handmaid’s Tale». The theoretical meaning lies in the ability of syntactic means to create a logical sequence of events, emphasize important points, develop characters' characters and create an emotional load of the text.

In the process of working on our research, we performed the following tasks: - to clarify the basic images of the study: «image of a woman» and «image of the appearance of the woman»; - to find out what translation methods Olena Oksenych used in the translation; - to understand whether the translator has retained all the features and characteristics of describing female images; - to analyze a set of linguistic means of verbalization of the studied concept in the work.

Thus, the original text and the Ukrainian version of the translation were compared. The main task of the translator was to preserve the image of the main character and skillfully reproduce the changes in her consciousness. The Ukrainian language provides more opportunities to convey the structure of the original, so O.Oksenych successfully reflects the inner state of the main characters and their thoughts. The image "appearance of the woman" reveals extensive descriptions of the appearance of the characters with epithets, comparisons, symbols and metaphors.Therefore, the imagery of women is fully preserved and transmitted in translation. The author also describes the role of women through her description, especially the body.

We see the perspective of translation analysis of Margaret Atwood's works, because they have significant potential for further research. Her books are often seen in the context of feminism, exploring themes of gender stereotypes, women's roles in society, and power. Additional research could focus on analyzing the political, social, and environmental aspects of her writing, as well as exploring the ways in which she uses science fiction to address current issues. The translation of Margaret Atwood's works plays an important role in introducing her ideas and concepts into the languages of different cultures. Translators face the challenge of conveying the unique writing style and nuances that are essential to preserving the meaning and emotional depth of the original. Analysis of translations allows us to understand how Atwood's works are perceived and interpreted in different cultures and linguistic environments. Such studies help reveal the impact of the writer's work on various audiences and expand her global understanding.
