Abstract In the work on the basis of objective laws on the development of technical systems and the features of the VI technological order directions of further development of pump technical systems are analyzed. The reserves of systems that already exist without changing the principle of the working process are shown, the concept of "combined working process" is introduced and the question of the necessity and possibility of searching for fundamentally different physical processes of liquid power transfer, including at the micro level, is raised.
