Features of translating English-language military discourse

Abstract

У статті визначено, що військовий дискурс є системою взаємодії концептів, що спрямовується на забезпечення ефективної та раціональної комунікації у військовій сфері. Це підкреслює його складність і важливість у структурі військових комунікацій. Військові тексти характеризуються чіткістю, конкретністю формулювань, стислістю, точністю, та ясністю викладу, що сприяє швидкому сприйняттю інформації. Для успішного перекладу вищезазначених текстів необхідно мати досконале володіння іноземною мовою, глибокі знання реалій української армії, її організаційної структури, видів бойової техніки та сучасного озброєння.

In the article, it is determined that military discourse is a system of interaction of concepts aimed at ensuring effective and rational communication in the military sphere. This emphasizes its complexity and importance in the structure of military communications. Military texts are characterized by clarity of expression, specificity of wording, brevity, accuracy, which contributes to the quick perception of information. To successfully translate the above-mentioned texts, it is necessary to have a perfect command of a foreign language, in-depth knowledge of the realities of the Ukrainian army, its organizational structure, types of military equipment and modern weapons.
