Abstract

Путивль у ранньомодерний час був одним з літописних міст, що пережило монгольський погром 1239\1240 років і на довгі століття лишалося центром військового та економічного життя Південної Сіверщини. Важливу роль у розвитку регіону відігравав Сейм, який був природним кордоном та водним шляхом з Путивля до Дніпра, та далі на південь.

In early modern times, Putivl was one of the chronicled cities that survived the Mongol pogrom of 1239/1240 and remained the center of military and economic life of the Southern Severshchyna for many centuries. An important role in the development of the region was played by the Seim, which was a natural border and a waterway from Putivl to the Dnieper and further south.
