One of the most important factors that influence the stock return is the ratio of market and book value of the shares. In banking, this ratio is also an indicator of statutory value of the bank. The purpose of this article - to get and empirically assess the factors that determine the appropriate price of its shares. The analytical model used in this paper is based on the approach of determining discounted cash receipts. For the empirical analysis used data from Israeli banks. The results show that risk, profit, and market and economic conditions significantly affect the ratio of the market and book value of the shares.
