Abstract В статье определено смысловое значение некоторых знаков-символов на вышитых орнаментах узбекского народного костюма. Раскрыта их связь с традициями и обрядами, магическими, религиозными и эстетическими представлениями, мировоззрением узбекского народа. Показана роль украшения вышивкой народного костюма в передаче и сохранении ценностей этнических и культурных традиций в Узбекистане.
The article is devoted to the study of the symbols of the ornament of the Uzbek national costume, that reflecting the traditions, mentality, aesthetic views of the people, in particular the symbols of the male headdress – the Uzbek skullcap. The semantic significance of some signs symbols, such as pepper, almonds, bindweed, sheep’s horn, snake, etc., has been determined. It is indicated that according to shape, ornament and color, of color fabric of the Uzbek skullcap can be determine the age of a person, his belonging to a particular locality, degree of his religiosity, education, social status, profession etc. The connection of symbols with traditions and rituals, magical, religious and esthetic ideas, the world outlook of the Uzbek people is revealed. It is also noted that their main functions are: a function of an amulet against negative influence, repelling evil spirits, protecting newborns, protecting the health of the owner. The role of embroidered folk costume in transferring and preserving the values of ethnic and cultural traditions in Uzbekistan is shown.
