    Formation Students’ Perceptual Competence During the Study of Foreign Languages

    In current conditions, the strategic goal of teaching a foreign language is the formation of a multilingual and multicultural personality with both professional and basic social and cultural competencies designed to ensure intercultural communication. Understanding foreign language oral speech is an integral part of the process of intercultural communication, without which communication can be difficult or impossible. All this was a prerequisite for improving the formation of perceptual competence in students in the study of foreign languages. The authors studied the essence of perceptual competence, its place in the structure of communicative competence, main characteristics and formed a hypothesis. The second stage of the study involved experimenting to confirm or refute the hypothesis put forward. The authors developed an experimental course that differed from the traditional methods and tools, divided the students into 3 groups according to specific criteria, and conducted an experiment. As a result of the investigation, the hypothesis was confirmed that teaching the understanding of a foreign language oral speech will be more effective if, in the course of teaching according to the proposed methodology, based on unadapted authentic videos demonstrating the variability of communicative situations, students will develop the skills of perceptual competence in interpreting discourse.

    Study experiences of Hispanic Studies students at the faculty of philology and arts during the COVID-19 pandemic

    The pandemic of the Covid-19 virus in Serbia began in March 2020, when the state leadership adopted direct measures that temporarily closed preschools, schools and colleges. The newly created situation required quick reactions from professors and the reorganization of teaching, which moved from traditional, face-to-face, to online, distance learning. At the very beginning of the pandemic, the teaching staff of the Faculty of Philology and Arts of the University of Kragujevac received permission to adapt the classes to their needs and all professors were required to find the most adequate solution for teaching in these changed social circumstances. In this paper, we will focus on teaching during the pandemic at the Department of Hispanic Studies, with the aim of presenting the course of teaching, the methods and tools that were used, and the experience, judgment and attitudes of students, since the evaluation and improvement of each method of teaching should start exactly from how it performed for the main actors in that process. We will present the opinions of the students on the basis of a completed questionnaire, with which we examined the impressions of students of Hispanic studies who were in their first and second year of study during the pandemic.

    The shuttle time university course in the motor activity of students

    Relevance of the topic. Reforming the main areas of pedagogical education in modern realities necessitates changes in the structure of organizational and methodical support, the search for innovative approaches, active forms and methods of learning aimed at formation of a creative personality of students and health preserving technologies. This problem is solved with the introduction of modern sports and their elements into educational programs, which will undoubtedly affect the socialization of young people, increase their interest in sports, increase their motor activity, and expand knowledge in the field of physical culture and sports. Badminton should become one of these means of physical education. The relevance of ensuring the high efficiency of physical education of education seekers by means of badminton is growing significantly, considering that young people show a special interest in game sports. Game sports attract them with their emotionality, the variety of plots and tasks, the opportunity to satisfy the desire for motor activity. The purpose of the survey: to determine the pedagogical conditions for the implementation of The Shuttle Time University Course in the motor activity of students.

    Methodology for creating students’ personal brands through career-oriented language courses

    2022 has been a challenging year for universities and teachers who have had to adjust to new ways of working. More than ever, there is a need for educators not only in our country, but around the world to search for new methodologies in order to find effective ways of ensuring students to continue learning, either remotely from home, in physically-distanced, face-to-face classrooms, or a combination of the two. A lot of attention should be drawn to students’ language acquisition process and its affective factors in the online environment by providing ideas, strategies, and possible solutions for technical and pedagogical problems that might arise in this teaching context. Both teachers and students have confronted some unexpected problems connected with the ways of teaching and learning a foreign language under the conditions of war using a foreign language as a tool to help students to find their place in the future world. The education system and learning are changing in response to these challenges. Foreign language instructors who are successful in obtaining possibilities of moving from traditional lessons to the process of preparing career-specific courses for certain students should plan a modified teaching approach. Primarily, this will involve concentrating on the ways of helping students to create their personal brand for their future careers.

    Exployting TikTok in teaching English: SWOT analysis of application

    Додатки соціальних мереж зараз стають все більш популярними в освітньому процесі. Ця стаття має на меті дослідити потенціал використання нового додатка для соціальних мереж TikTok у викладанні англійської мови в Сумському державному університеті. TikTok — це і навчальна платформа, і соціальна мережа. Цей метод активного навчання має різні унікальні особливості, які приваблюють студентів. Успіх TikTok значною мірою пояснюється інтерактивним та надзвичайно привабливим характером аудіовізуального контенту, який домінує на його платформі. Метою цієї роботи є дослідження доцільності використання платформи TikTok у процесі вивчення англійської мови. Для цього авторами було використано SWOT-аналіз із оцінкою сильних сторін, слабких сторін, можливостей, загроз використання TikTok у навчальному процесі. У цій роботі розглянуто переваги інтеграції TikTok в навчальний процес у класі та поза ним. Дослідження показують, що це ефективний інструмент як для студентів, так і для вчителів. В статті представлені різні способи впровадження TikTok під час навчання англійської мови, оскільки все більше і більше викладачів англійської мови використовують платформи соціальних мереж.

    Strengthening students’ health in the process of sports and health tourism engagement

    The aim: Is to investigate the level and dynamics of students’ physical health in the process of sports and health tourism engagement. Materials and methods: The research involved the students (men) of Sumy State University (n = 60). The research was conducted in 2018-2020. The comparative analysis of indicators of physical development, functional status and health of the students who were engaged in sports and health tourism (sports section of the Department of Physical Education, n = 30) in the process of their physical education, and the students who attended traditional physical education classes (main section, n = 30) was carried out. The level of the students’ health was assessed according to the methods by H. L. Apanasenko and V. P. Voitenko. Results: It was found that most indicators of physical development, functional status and state of health are significantly better at the end of the research in the students who were engaged in sports and health tourism during their education than in the students who were engaged in traditional physical education classes. The largest increases are in the indicators of body weight, circumferential size of the chest and the waist, heart rate, vital, strength indices, Robinson’s index, duration of heart rate recovery after standard exercise, duration of breath-holding at inspiration and expiration, level of physical health. Conclusions: The high level of physical development, functional status and the state of students’ health formed in the process of sports and health tourism will ensure the effectiveness of their learning in higher educational institutions owing to improving their mental and physical performance, as well as help to improve indicators of their lifesustaining and future professional activities.

    Forming students’ cognitive creative independence in heuristic professionally oriented situations

    Successful studying at institutions of higher education requires high level of students’ independence, critical thinking, as well as the usage of creative approaches to learning activities, which should be meaningful and engaging. Involvement into different types of independent cognitive and creative activity (required, desirable, optional) should happen under the guidance, but without direct participation of the teacher in the classroom or during extracurricular activities [1]. The last ones are of great importance as a student becomes the initiator of the search for knowledge, acquires the ability to manage his/her own activities, independently states and defines a learning task; plans his/her own work, organises and controls it; corrects the planning, organization and manages to monitor this work in progress, thus ensuring the development of personal self-regulation that serves as the base component of the manifestation of cognitive and creative independence.

    What leads Ukrainian university students to use Wikipedia?

    Інтернет надає студентам доступ до великої кількості джерел інформації. Посилання на сайт Вікіпедії є одним з тих, що найбільш часто зустрічається у результатах пошуку популярних сервісів. Метою дослідження було вивчити загальне ставлення студентів до Вікіпедії та з'ясувати, чи є певні закономірності використанні Вікіпедії як інформаційного джерела для навчальних цілей різними групами студентів в українському університеті, зокрема щодо мови, якою вони здійснюють пошук. Встановлено, що переважна більшість студентів користуються Вікіпедією, і більшість з них використовують її з навчальною метою. На початковому етапі роботи над письмовими завданнями студенти цінують стислість та інформативність Вікіпедії. Однак, її використання обмежується, з одного боку, недостатнім наповненням статей рідною мовою, а з іншого, - недостатнім рівнем володіння англійською. Ми з'ясували, що використання Вікіпедії з навчальною метою також залежить від спеціальності студента, року навчання і рекомендації викладачів.

The ideology of parkour denies these principles. The main objective of the tracers (people practicing parkour) is to be able to calculate their strength and reach the desired point in space using only their body easily, naturally, organically, freely and quickly.
