This research aims to investigate the impact of enterprise resource planning (ERP) management systems on the environmental and financial performance of Ukrainian companies. To attain the paper's goal, this study is carried out in the following logical sequence: 1) Analysing the multifaceted role of ERP systems in modern business frameworks, including their capacity to manage stakeholder conflicts and mitigate environmental risks. 2) Empirically testing the hypothesis through a sophisticated partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) model, highlighting the mediating role of stakeholder influence on environmentally oriented activities. The application of structural modelling tools and PLS-SEM techniques has revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between ERP management system efficiency and company profitability (impact strength = 0.497). Since all indicators of'stakeholder influence intensity on environmentally oriented company activities' have a statistically significant influence at the 1% level, the establishment of goals for environmentally oriented company development and the corresponding ERP management system should consider the interests of all company stakeholders. The research results can be helpful for policymakers and businesses seeking to promote ERP adoption for environmental sustainability, enhance transparency, and achieve a synergistic effect between environmental objectives and profitability.

In the contemporary global landscape, characterised by increasing concerns about climate change, sustainable development, and corporate responsibility, it is necessary to study and address pressing issues at the intersection of environmental consciousness, technological advancement, and governance practices. This paper aims to examine the relationship between the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) pillars of a country’s development, green brand and digitalisation. To achieve the study’s goal, partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was applied. The object of investigation was EU countries for 2016-2020. The findings allow us to conclude that a country's green brand is conducive to ESG performance by attracting green investment in renewable energies, social projects, and innovations. The results confirm that governments should prioritise sustainability initiatives, such as investing in renewable energy, adopting sustainable practices, and implementing environmental and social policies. Such efforts can enhance a country's green brand and lead to positive ESG outcomes, attracting more responsible businesses and investors. Moreover, digitalisation promoted governance by 0.142. The results showed that digitalisation could be a powerful tool for improving a country's green brand and ESG performance. Digital technologies can help countries monitor and manage environmental resources, promote sustainable practices, and engage with stakeholders.

Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna
The inexorable march of technological advancement, particularly within the digital domain, continues to exert a profound influence on global economies, societies, and governance frameworks. This paper delves into the intricate coordination between digital business and digital governance against the backdrop of sustainable development. By introducing an index system to gauge the levels of digital business and governance, this study assesses their coupling coordination using a coupling coordination model. Through this level of coordination, this paper assesses their respective contributions to the sustainable development objectives of EU countries through panel-corrected standard error (PCSE) estimates. The paper’s findings underscore several key conclusions: (1) Notable upswings are evident in the composite indices for digital business and digital governance growth. Among these, the index of digital business has demonstrated the most pronounced surge. Furthermore, digital business has experienced a distinct upward trajectory in recent years. (2) Although observable, the rise of the coupling degree is restrained, with an overall coupling degree that remains relatively low. The coupling progression has transitioned from a stage of low-degree coupling to that of primary coupling, with EU countries demonstrating fluctuating rising trends in their coupling degrees, marked by conspicuous regional disparities. (3) Over the examined period, the extent of coordination between digital business and digital governance substantially impacts the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) index. Focusing on the interplay and harmonization between digital business and governance offers a novel pathway toward attaining the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Management of companies’ green competitiveness: Coordination degree between core determinants
Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna
Companies' green competitive advantages result from the high coordination of economic, ecological, social and corporate subsystems. Thus, it is important to investigate the influence and coupling coordination degree (CCD) of the relevant components of green competitiveness. This paper justifies the relationship between green competitiveness and the coupling degree of its components. It hypothesizes that the increasing integrated index of companies' green competitiveness was determined by levels of coordination and communication between its components. The study applies the CCD model and correlation analysis to test the hypothesis. The objects of analysis were enterprises represented by three economic sectors: agro-industrial, mechanical engineering and food. The findings show that the highest coupling coordination degree among all components is represented by the companies with the highest green competitive index. These companies are characterized by the dominance of corporate components, which can increase the general level of green competitive advantages in various combinations with other determinants.

Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna
Purpose – The transition to green growth goals requires the concerted efforts of the whole society. Enterprises, as important players in the market, play a key role in promoting green and sustainable development. The rise of the concept of sustainable development has enabled more enterprises to disclose environmental, social and governance (ESG) information, and ESG behaviour is regarded as a positive strategic behaviour to implement the new development concept. This paper aims to explore the influence of ESG performance on enterprise green innovation. Design/methodology/approach – This study applies a fixed effect model and the regulation effect of empirical analysis to explore the influence of ESG performance on enterprise green innovation. The object of investigation is 2014–2021 Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies. Findings – The results of an empirical analysis outline the following conclusions: (1) ESG performance has a significant effect on enterprise green innovation, mainly by easing the pressure of the financing enterprise, fitting stakeholders’ environmental protection concept and obtaining employee organizational identity that influences enterprise green innovation. (2) Government regulation positively regulates the role of ESG performance in promoting the green innovation of enterprises. (3) Heterogeneity analysis found that the strengthening role of ESG performance on the green innovation of enterprises is stronger in green invention patents, state-owned enterprises and nonheavily polluting industries. Research limitations/implications – Despite the valuable findings, this study has a few limitations. Thus, it is necessary to extend the object of investigation by adding other Asian countries, which allows for comparison analysis and allocating best practices for promoting green innovation. Besides, innovation and ESG performance depend on the quality of institutions. In this case, the future study should incorporate the indicators that reveal the quality of institutions (corruption, transparency, digitalisation, voice, accountability, etc.). Practical implications – According to the above conclusions, this paper proposes suggestions at the level of enterprises, government and investors. At the enterprise level, ESG responsibility should be strengthened, ESG information should be consciously disclosed and the quality of ESG disclosure should be improved. Government departments should play the role of supervisors, improve the construction of ESG information disclosure systems and promote the formation of ESG systems. At the social level, investors should improve the ESG information status and pay more attention to the ESG performance of enterprises.

Energy Poverty and Democratic Values: A European Perspective
Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna
This paper explores the complex relationship between energy poverty and the maintenance of democratic values within the European Union (EU), suggesting that energy poverty not only impacts economic stability and health outcomes but also poses significant challenges to democratic engagement and equity. To measure energy poverty, a composite index is developed using the entropy method, which surpasses traditional measures focused solely on access to energy or its developmental implications. To assess the level of democratic governance in EU countries, the voice and accountability index (VEA), which is part of the World Governance Indicators compiled by the World Bank, is utilized. By analyzing EU data from 2006 to 2022, the findings suggest that a 1% improvement in VEA quality, represented by a coefficient of 0.122, is correlated with a notable improvement in the energy poverty index. This suggests that the EU should focus on enhancing transparency and public participation in energy decision-making, along with ensuring accountability in policy implementation. The research also differentiates between full and flawed democracies, noting that tailored approaches are needed. In full democracies, leveraging economic prosperity and trade is crucial due to their significant positive impacts on the energy poverty index. In contrast, in flawed democracies, enhancing governance and accountability is more impactful, as evidenced by a higher coefficient of 0.193. Strengthening legal and regulatory frameworks, improving regulatory quality, and ensuring public engagement in governance could substantially mitigate energy poverty in these contexts. In addition, this paper demonstrates that this relationship is influenced by factors such as income inequality, energy intensity, and trade openness.

Kwilinski, Aleksy; Zbigniew M.; Zimbroff, A.
Modern conditions for transforming the business environment in the context of imple-menting sustainable development goals, decarbonising the economy, and ensuring cli-mate neutrality determine the need to implement effective measures at the level of indi-vidual enterprises. External challenges determine the urgency of strengthening enterpris-es' green competitive advantages and forming an integral level of green competitiveness. e paper offers a methodological basis for the long-term forecasting of enterprises' green competitiveness levels. e key object of the research is a set of companies repre-senting the machine building, agriculture, and food industries, as strategic branches of Ukraine’s economy. e period of 2020–2028 was chosen as the interval for foresight. e application of autoregressive integrated ARIMA modelling by means of the non-linear least squares method made it possible to determine transformation vectors, marketing determinants, and target orientations for increasing the integral level of green competi-tiveness. e assessment of the results showed that the leading enterprises in the optimis-tic scenario are PJSC "SVF Agrotron" (agro-industrial complex), where the predictive value of green competitiveness is 0.84; PJSC "Wimm-Bill-Dunn Ukraine" (food indus-try), for which the predictive value is 0.73; and PJSC "Motor Sich" (mechanical engineer-ing), for which the predictive value of green competitiveness is 0.74. e results of the evaluation revealed the leading enterprises according to the optimistic scenario for the agro-industrial complex, food industry, and mechanical engineering. e research sub-stantiates the claim that the priorities of the strategy for increasing the level of green com-petitiveness and the relevant determinants of its implementation should be determined considering the transformation scenarios of its level.

This study aims to fill the gap in estimating the Green Country Brand Strength Index and its convergence among EU countries and Ukraine (as a potential EU candidate) from 2006 to 2020. Drawing upon data from the World Data Bank, Eurostat, and The Food and Agriculture Organization, the study employs various analytical tools including principal component analysis, the global Malmquist‒Luenberger productivity index, the entropy method, and s- and b-convergence theories. The findings suggest a notable increase in the green brand values of the analyzed countries from 2006 to 2020, with a significant expansion of the measurement scale. Notably, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and Sweden emerged as leaders in the Green Country Brand Strength Index by 2020. Furthermore, the study uncovers convergent policies among EU countries aimed at fostering green brands aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, as evidenced by a decline in s- and b-convergences. This research provides valuable insights into the dynamics of green branding and policy convergence within the EU and prospective candidate countries. It introduces a distinctive approach to assessing and analyzing green brand strength, emphasizing its critical importance to the formulation of sustainable development policies and strategies.

Inclusive Economic Growth: Relationship between Energy and Governance Efficiency
Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna
