Item Institutions’ Effect on a Country’s Investment Attractiveness within Sustainable Development(Institute for International Cooperation Development, 2022) Москаленко, Богдан Андрійович; Moskalenko, Bohdan Andriiovych; Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna; Кобушко, Ігор Миколайович; Kobushko, Ihor MykolaiovychSustainable development requires implementation of relevant green transformation of countries by providing green policies and extending green technologies and renewable energies. Withal, it requires attracting additional knowledge, human, financial, and natural resources. In this case, countries with higher investment attractiveness have a higher capability to attract additional knowledge and resources to implement mechanisms and policies to achieve sustainable development goals. The effectiveness of public governance is a basic condition for the successful modernization of the economy to develop a positive business climate and attract investment. The paper aims at analysing the impact of institutions’ quality on a country’s investment attractiveness. The objects of research are Ukraine and the EU countries. The study applies correlation and regression analysis to achieve the purpose of the research. The findings show that institutions’ quality has a positive and statistically significant effect on a country’s investment attractiveness in the EU countries. However, in political stability, freedom and quality of governance positively influence a country’s investment attractiveness. Improving political stability by one point promotes the integrated index of a country’s investment attractiveness for the EU country by 0.086 and for Ukraine by 0.016. The impact of the rule of law on a country’s investment attractiveness is not statistically significant. This means that Ukraine has not formed an appropriate and affordable legislation base for attracting investors to the country. Thus, the Ukrainian government should pay attention to legislation for the regulation of social and economic development and energy and resource use.Item The Impact of Government Subsidies on Technological Innovation in Agribusiness: The Case for China(MDPI, 2022) Wu, L.; Hu, K.; Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna; Hamid, I.With the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy and the promotion of agricultural and rural modernization, the subsidies enjoyed by agricultural enterprises in China are increasing. As a result, the effectiveness of government subsidies for the technological innovation of agricultural enterprises has attracted more and more attention. Based on the perspectives of the whole industry chain of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, and of processing, manufacturing, circulation, and service, this paper takes the listed agricultural companies from 2007 to 2019 as a research sample and empirically tests the effects and mechanisms of government subsidies on the technological innovation of agricultural enterprises. The study applies the fixed effect and intermediary effect models. The findings show that government subsidies potentially encourage agricultural enterprises to grow more successfully. Moreover, R&D expenditure is essential for enterprise technological innovation and leads to an intermediate impact. At the same time, government subsidies for the technological innovation of agricultural enterprises have a certain heterogeneity between different industries, state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises, and large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, this study argues that the government should continue to raise subsidies. In addition, the subsidies should be “different from enterprise to enterprise”, and government subsidy funds should be better supervised to foster agricultural technological innovation properly.Item Intergenerational Transmission of Obesity: Role of Education and Income(MDPI, 2022) Dong, Z.; Wu, L.; Chen, Ya.; Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana VolodymyrivnaBased on the sixth round of the 2018 Chinese Household Income Project family income survey (CHIP) data, this study made use of the OLS estimation and transfer matrix method to measure and test the problem of obesity intergenerational transmission, analyze whether there is obesity intergenerational transmission as well as between urban and rural areas, gender, and the parental education level and income level on the suppression of the obesity intergenerational transmission effect. The empirical results draw the following main conclusions: obesity intergenerational transmission in Chinese families, the degree of parental obesity has a significant positive impact on the degree of offspring obesity; the higher the degree of parental obesity, the more it can promote the degree of obesity in the offspring. Moreover, the degree of obesity intergenerational transmission is heterogeneous in urban and rural areas and gender. At the same time, the degree of rural obesity intergenerational transmission is higher than that of urban areas, and the degree of male obesity intergenerational transmission is higher than that of women.Item Migration process in Ukraine: the financial, social and economic determinants(ТОВ «ФІНТЕХАЛЬЯНС», 2021) Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna; Швіндіна, Ганна Олександрівна; Shvindina, Hanna Oleksandrivna; Pudryk, D.Дослідження зосереджено на виявленні взаємозв’язків між показниками зростання міграції та показниками економічного розвитку і спрямовано на перевірку тверджень про те, що мігранти переміщуються до країн із високим рівнем урбанізації, високим експортно-імпортним і бюджетним потенціалом, соціальним, економічним та інфраструктурним розвитком, високими темпами інновацій, із доступною та ефективною системою охорони здоров’я, фінансовою стабільністю. Item The role of environmental risk management in company profitability within sustainable development goals(E3S Web of Conferences, 2023) Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna; Квілінський, Олексій Станіславович; Kwilinski, Aleksy; Ус, Яна Олександрівна; Us, Yana Oleksandrivna; Коробець, Олена Михайлівна; Korobets, Olena MykhailivnaThis research aims to investigate the impact of enterprise resource planning (ERP) management systems on the environmental and financial performance of Ukrainian companies. To attain the paper's goal, this study is carried out in the following logical sequence: 1) Analysing the multifaceted role of ERP systems in modern business frameworks, including their capacity to manage stakeholder conflicts and mitigate environmental risks. 2) Empirically testing the hypothesis through a sophisticated partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) model, highlighting the mediating role of stakeholder influence on environmentally oriented activities. The application of structural modelling tools and PLS-SEM techniques has revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between ERP management system efficiency and company profitability (impact strength = 0.497). Since all indicators of'stakeholder influence intensity on environmentally oriented company activities' have a statistically significant influence at the 1% level, the establishment of goals for environmentally oriented company development and the corresponding ERP management system should consider the interests of all company stakeholders. The research results can be helpful for policymakers and businesses seeking to promote ERP adoption for environmental sustainability, enhance transparency, and achieve a synergistic effect between environmental objectives and profitability.Item Macroeconomic stability of the country: the nexus of institutional and behavioural dimensions(Centre of Sociological Research, 2023) Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna; Квілінський, Олексій Станіславович; Kwilinski, Aleksy; Chen, Y.The ongoing globalisation, recessions, and fluctuations in world development require the acceptance of timely government interventions and decisions to save the country's macroeconomic stability. The literature analysis has confirmed a gap in research on assessing and comparing macroeconomic stability at different levels of development, especially in terms of studies that consider the behavioural (culture and trust) dimensions and the quality of institutions. This paper aimed to empirically assess how the achievement of macroeconomic stability depends on the quality of institutions, increasing society's trust, and cultural diversity. This study investigated post-communist economies among EU countries and Ukraine (as the candidate for EU) over 2005-2020. Pearson correlation, OLS and FGLS, robustness test output, GEE, and stochastic frontier model were applied to achieve the paper's aims. The findings confirmed that countries with high-quality of institutions had a higher value of macroeconomic stability. In addition, social trust positively affected the relationship between the quality of institutions and macroeconomic stability. At the same time, various national cultural dimensions had different effects on macroeconomic stability. The four indicators of Hofstede Insights (power distance, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance, and indulgence) had a statistically significant impact on macroeconomic stability.Item Mapping the nexus between digital transformation and the green brand in the context of achieving SDGs(E3S Web of Conferences, 2023) Ус, Яна Олександрівна; Us, Yana Oleksandrivna; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna; Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Квілінський, Олексій Станіславович; Kwilinski, AleksyThe aim of this study is to conduct an extensive review and evaluation of the global scientific literature that explores the nexus between digital transformation and green brands in achieving SDGs. This study focuses on 866 relevant scientific articles published in journals indexed in the Scopus database. The analysis encompasses a timeframe spanning from 2000 to 2023, with data collected up to September 1. The research process followed a logical sequence involving the collection and processing of relevant articles, followed by the application of various bibliometric methods to analyze and visually present the gathered data. Biblioshiny, VOSviewer 1.6.16 software toolkits, and Scopus analytical tools were employed for the bibliometric analysis. In the final stage, the obtained results were integrated, and potential directions for future research were explored. The findings suggest that digitalization acts as a catalyst for advancing sustainable development, ultimately facilitating the development and promotion of green brands. This chain of influence underscores the consensus among scholars that digitalization and green brands play instrumental roles in contributing to the achievement of SDGs. However, there is a relative scarcity of studies directly addressing the relationship between digitalization and green branding. This gap underscores the need for further research in this specific area to bridge the knowledge divide and provide valuable insights into how the synergy between digitalization and green branding can be harnessed to promote sustainability and advance the SDGs.Item How do e-governance and e-business drive sustainable development goals?(Elsevier, 2024) Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna; Saura, J.R.; Barbosa, B.Sustainable development policies trigger a shift in the global development paradigm by aligning economic, social, and ecological goals. Concurrently, the rapid surge in digitalization is transforming business processes and communications across all sectors and levels. As a result, the integration of e-business and e-governance becomes a critical component in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, the aim of this article is to analyze the effects of digitalization, specifcally e-governance and e-business, on the attainment of SDGs in European Union (EU) countries. The method used is a panel of corrected standard errors and feasible generalized least squares models to identify the impact and signifcance of e-governance and e-business on SDG achievement. The e-governance indicators considered by this study were found to signifcantly impact SDG achievement. Moreover, e-business indicators were also found to positively impact the attainment of SDGs, with some exceptions. The fndings suggest that EU countries should continue to intensify digitalization across all sectors as it enhances the transparency accountability of all business processes and communications and increases trust in government services, which are the core drivers of achieving SDGs.Item The role of country's green brand and digitalization in enhancing environmental, social, and governance performance(Polish Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, 2023) Квілінський, Олексій Станіславович; Kwilinski, Aleksy; Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana VolodymyrivnaIn the contemporary global landscape, characterised by increasing concerns about climate change, sustainable development, and corporate responsibility, it is necessary to study and address pressing issues at the intersection of environmental consciousness, technological advancement, and governance practices. This paper aims to examine the relationship between the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) pillars of a country’s development, green brand and digitalisation. To achieve the study’s goal, partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was applied. The object of investigation was EU countries for 2016-2020. The findings allow us to conclude that a country's green brand is conducive to ESG performance by attracting green investment in renewable energies, social projects, and innovations. The results confirm that governments should prioritise sustainability initiatives, such as investing in renewable energy, adopting sustainable practices, and implementing environmental and social policies. Such efforts can enhance a country's green brand and lead to positive ESG outcomes, attracting more responsible businesses and investors. Moreover, digitalisation promoted governance by 0.142. The results showed that digitalisation could be a powerful tool for improving a country's green brand and ESG performance. Digital technologies can help countries monitor and manage environmental resources, promote sustainable practices, and engage with stakeholders.Item Reducing transport sector CO2 emissions patterns: Environmental technologies and renewable energy(Elsevier, 2024) Квілінський, Олексій Станіславович; Kwilinski, Aleksy; Люльов, Олексій Валентинович; Liulov, Oleksii Valentynovych; Пімоненко, Тетяна Володимирівна; Pimonenko, Tetiana VolodymyrivnaThe research explores the impact of environmental technologies and renewable energy on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the EU transportation sector (2007–2020).
