The game method is the pedagogical tool that is able to remove the language barrier and intensify the process learning Ukrainian as foreign language. In the game students acquire personal knowledge that becomes meaningful and emotionally colored to them, and it helps them to understand and feel the situation better. This, in turn, requires students to mobilize knowledge, encourages them to learn new things, broadens their horizons and forces them to master a set of communication skills. Уміння вивчати іноземну мову впливає на рівень загальної успішності. Виділено наступні діагностичні параметри і фактори прогнозування академічної успішності: рівень мовної підготовки; переважання лівої/правої півкулі головного мозку; рівень тривожності; властивості вищої нервової діяльності; мотиваційна складова. Група студентів з низькою успішністю відноситься до групи ризику в оволодінні іноземними мовами. Для цієї групи характерні низька мотиваційна складова, високий рівень стресу і тривожності. Організацію навчального процесу можна поліпшити при комплектуванні навчальних груп, з рівномірним розподілом студентів з високим і середнім рівнями прогнозованої успішності. We have decided to highlight the issue of team teaching as we have our own teaching experience together with the Peace Corps volunteer who came to Sumy State University to work on the project “Teaching English as a Foreign Language”. The experiment lasted for two years. In the course of our collaboration we were able to observe the progress in students’ knowledge, increase in their linguistic competence, motivation and interest. Many students started attending weekly meetings of the English Club in order to improve their spoken English, broaden their worldview through intercultural communication and enrich vocabulary. Although it has been proven that it is easier for children to learn a second language, it is obviously never too late to learn. Whatever your age, being bilingual certainly has advantages. Good pronunciation is very important for effective oral verbal communication. As it is known all the sounds in all languages are in permanent process of changing. Pronunciation of British English was once based on the speech of the upper class of south-eastern England, eventually formerly used as a broadcast standard in British media. It enjoyed status of being “good English” for several decades.
