Technology of sulfur reduction in petroleum refinery flare disposal using waste metals
(Sumy State University, 2025) Ahmed, I.H.; Bataltsev, Yevhen Volodymyrovych
In this experimental study, the most important topics were highlighted, namely that in all oil refineries and oil and gas producing fields, large quantities of gas are burned for purposes including getting rid of sulfur compounds and hydrogen sulfide gas (Fig. 1). The emissions of these fuels are released into the atmosphere, leaving behind greenhouse gases such as sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide. These gases are known to directly impact climate change and global warming, in addition to being toxic and carcinogenic substances for humans, animals, and other living organisms.

Methane fermentation of pomace wastes generated in cereal coffee production
Pimonenko, Tetiana Volodymyrivna
Batch methane fermentation of pomace wastes from cereal coffee production was experimentally studied. Data were elaborated with modified Gompertz kinetic model. The 10-time increase in reactor load 5-50 g/dm3 corresponds to proportional growth of maximal biogas yield Hmax from 421.94 to 4119.37 cm3 and growth of maximum process rate Rmax from 1.0745 to 10.7379 cm3/h. Unit reactor yield (for 1 g of raw mass, dry mass and dry organic mass) decreases, however, with increase in reactor load within 5-30 g/dm3 range while unit maximum process rate turned out to be practically load-independent.

Complex municipal solid waste sorting: approaches and methods
(Sumy State University, 2015) Sydorenko, L.M.
Household waste treatment is one of the most pressing problems of our time. Waste processing and waste utilization is multifactorial ecological, economic, technological and social problem.

Еcological situation and its dynamics in the regions of Ukraine
(Wyższa Szkoła Turystyki i Ekologii w Suchej Beskidzkiej, Kornus, Anatolii Oleksandrovych
In accordance with the various anthropogenic disturbances and degradation of natural resources is created the appropriate environmental situation. In Ukraine, the environmental situation is remains rather tense. Emissions of air pollutants remain high, although it declined significantly as compared with the 1990. In our study was analyzed the dynamics of the water withdrawal from natural water bodies and discharges contaminated wastewater into surface water, and also generation of wastes and utilization of wastes. For these indicators of environmental quality were derived trend's lines, which allowed to predict their amount to 2015.

Environmental sanitation policy and solid waste management in Sunyani municipality
2013) Pius, A.; Shkarupa, E.V.
Solid Waste management is one of the least recognized public policy issues in Ghana. Quite apart from the obvious physical unattractiveness of the business, waste management often competes with more pressing economic and social issues such as fiscal and trade matters, unemployment and poverty, education and health. Even within the domain of environmental sustainability, the management of waste has had to play second fiddle to more apparently manifest challenges such as land and coastal degradation, biodiversity loss, and climate change. Waste management, however, remains a major challenge for any society, since all natural processes generate waste. The particular economic, social and environmental circumstances of the Sunyani municipality make this issue especially critical for medium to long-term sustainable development. Recycling process in Ukrainian enterprises
(Сумський державний університет, 2013) Matveyeva, O.
Today there is a big problem with pollution of atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere. So it is important to find a way in which it is able to minimize the scale of this problem. There are many ways to decide them such as use less energy and product, use resources more efficiently and recycle the waste. Ecological-economic aspects of waste management
(Сумський державний університет, 2013) Kasianenko, Ju.
One of the hottest environmental issues has recently become the fight against the rubbish. Both air pollution, depletion of the ozone layer and global warming are the result of human activity. Ukraine is taking the lead. When you are citing the document, use the following link http://essuir.sumdu.edu.ua/handle/123456789/31585

Assessment profile of waste management system in Ukraine
Frolov, Serhii Mykhailovych
With the industrialisation waste emerged in the proper sense. Waste had to become a problem so that waste management could develop. Within industry, commerce as well as households non-renewable resources were used with increasing intensity. Furthermore the economic development of the industrial system took up pace. Products got replaced faster and more frequent and were devaluated to waste. Through the development of new technologies and energies, the large scale use of raw materials that have been rarely used yet as well as the development of new markets a self-reinforcing process came into being. All these factors lead to an increasing economic and social change as well as a so far unknown amount of waste. The theoretical grounding of creation assessment profileof waste management system in Ukraine
Bilopilska, Oleksandra Oleksandrivna
The development of a country’s waste management system illustrates a sequence of comprehensive innovation projects that apply for appropriate requirements. In Ukraine plans and concept of solid waste management were adopted, which includes impossible task and the main reason for their implementation impossibility is the low environmental awareness of the population. It is significant to determine the stage of development what can be attributed to the state of waste management system in Ukraine and define the factors that influence on the system’s development. This will help to develop realistic plans that include tactical and strategic tasks that correspond to the economic, social, legal and environmental level of development of the country.
