Improvement of Reliability and Ecological Safety of NPP Reactor Coolant Pump Seals
(Державний науково-технічний центр з ядерної та радіаційної безпеки (ДНТЦ ЯРБ), 2020) Shevchenko, S.; Шевченко, Олександр Сергійович; Шевченко, Александр Сергеевич; Shevchenko, Oleksandr Serhiiovych
The paper presents the analysis of existing designs of NPP reactor coolant pumps (RCP) rotor sealing systems. The most common design solutions of sealing units that provide the necessary tightness, reliability and service life under high pressure, temperature and sliding speeds typical for RCP, as well as trends for their improvement to increase tightness and environmental safety of activities were identified.Designs of impulse seals with a self-adjusting clearance are presented as the most promising assemblies for sealing pump shafts with high parameters. A computer model of impulse mechanical seal as an automatic control system is proposed. A framework for calculating impulse mechanical seals has been developed, allowing the choice of their main geometric parameters to ensure the optimal value of the mechanical clearance and the friction moment on the sealing contact surfaces. Expressions are obtained for constructing the static and flow characteristics of a impulse mechanical seal, the condition for its dynamic stability is determined. The paper presents the shaft sealing system of RCP, main nodes of which are several stages of impulse mechanical seals with a self-regulating clearance.

The paper is devoted to the investigation of environmental, energy and economic security by multivariate analysis methods. A set of indicators selected for research conducting includes 9 parameters for each security type. Study sample is formed by data for 6 Eastern European countries (Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovak Republic) for the period 2000–2019. Empirical study was conducted by factor analysis, which allowed identifying the main components of environmental, energy and economic security. Comparison of the results obtained for the studied countries showed differentiation of individual profiles of such types of security. Investigation of integral vectors of environmental, energy and economic security showed the highest level of interaction between energy and environmental security and the lowest one between energy and economic security.

Modification of the international energy agency model (the IEA model of short-term energy security) for assessing the energy security of Ukraine
(Sumy State University, 2017) Salihay, T.; Прийменко, Світлана Анатоліївна; Прийменко, Светлана Анатольевна; Pryimenko, Svitlana Anatoliivna
Over the past decades, as a result of global environmental, energy and economic crises, the level of development of the fuel and energy complexes in the world has become one of the dominant factors determining the level of national security, the country’s competitiveness in the world market and its economic stability. At the same time, today the level of environmental and natural and technogenic safety of energy companies is extremely low in the world. Taking this into account, scientists and representatives of state authorities of various countries of the world, as well as intergovernmental associations and international organizations discuss the problem of searching for innovative sources of electric power generation for obtaining new types of energy products that can change innovative sources of electricity production and the global economy as a whole, and will increase the rationality of resource use and environmental safety of the country, regions and people.
