Methodology for determining the installed capacity of a cogeneration unit and development of related measures for its implementation
(Sumy State University, 2025) Yehorov, Y.; Sotnyk, Mykola Ivanovych
The decentralisation of energy supply to critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine allows to increase their sustainability and energy efficiency by introducing cogeneration units that simultaneously generate electricity and heat. In order to determine the technical parameters of cogeneration units that should be used to supply electricity to boiler houses of heating systems or other facilities, as well as to identify additional measures to be implemented to integrate the unit into the technological process, a methodology is proposed that includes the following steps: 1. Determination of the estimated total average hourly electricity consumption by the boiler house (calculated based on the actual consumption during the coldest month of the heating period, for example, January) – Paverage fact, kW.

Influence of different volute casings theoretical methods design on pump working processes
Antonenko, Serhii Serhiiovych; Boiko, V.
The work is devoted to determining the influence of methods and recommendations for the design of a volute casing on the flow structure and the efficiency of the double-entry centrifugal pump. Volute casing designed by the constant-velocity method of the fluid according to the recommendations of A. Stepanoff, volute casing designed by the method of conservation of angular momentum of the flow, and the recommendations of C. Pfleiderer and A. Lomakin were designed and researched. The proposed designs were compared with the base volute casing. The analysis was performed based on the results of numerical simulation of the working process of the pump in the software ANSYS CFX at different flow rates. One impeller geometry and a constant volute casing outlet diameter were used to minimize the influence of other pump design factors on the working process of the volute casing. The distribution of pressure and velocity in the volute casing is analysed. Analysis of velocities and angular momentum along the volute casing showed the same deviation of them values. In general, the characteristics of the flow inside the volute casing conform indicated method. The article provides recommendations for choosing a method of designing a pump volute casing.

Influence of construction and operating pump parameters on pressure pulsations amplitude
Sapozhnikov, Serhii Viacheslavovych
The research results that presented in the article are focused on decreasing the intensity of pressure pulsations in the flowing part of centrifugal pumps. The aim of the work is researching influence of changes in construction and/or operating pump parameters on pressure pulsations amplitude. Basing on the research results, were determined the main sources of pressure pulsations in the flowing part of the spiral centrifugal pumps and the reasons of increasing their amplitude during pump operation mode at supply 0.3Qopt…0.7Qopt. The article presents information about dependencies of pump head and pressure pulsations amplitude on construction and operating pump parameters, such as: number of blades (z), blade width at the impeller outlet (b2), ratio of volute initial diameter to impeller outer diameter (D3/D2), angle of output edge inclination (φ), rotor rotation frequency (n) and blades position of impeller halves in relative to each other (shift step - ψ).

Sotnyk, Mykola Ivanovych; Hyrchenko, Y.
The article gives an estimation of the management effectiveness of electricity supply enterprises in emerging economies on the example of enterprises of the northern and central regions of Ukraine. Estimation was conducted on the basis of the authors’ methodological approach that applies the number of indicators taken as a basis for the formation of the integrated indicator. The latter allows carrying out a comprehensive estimation of the management effectiveness system of the electricity supply enterprises. The obtained results show a low management effectiveness of the considered electricity supply enterprises. As a result, the conducted research identified the barriers that hinder the efficient development of electricity supply enterprises and outlined the main directions for reforming energy supply enterprises’ activity.

Recirculation power in the balance of hydraulic losses of centrifugal pump
Chernobrova, Anna Kostiantynivna
Purpose. Improving the methodology for determining the recirculation power of low and medium specific speed centrifugal pumps in order to determine ways to increase their energy efficiency. Methodology. A numerical simulation based on the physical nature of the phenomena of recirculation power, conducted using the ANSYS CFX software. findings. The dynamics of changes in the integral parameters of the operational process of a centrifugal pump D20001002 at flow rates that deviate from optimal (Qopt) are investigated and presented. Based on the results of the numerical simulation, the values of the theoretical head of the impeller, as well as the head at its outlet, taking into account and excluding recirculation, are determined. Due to the difference in the obtained head values, the value of the power losses for recirculation and their part in the balance of hydraulic losses are determined. Based on the simulation results of the operational process of the centrifugal pump D20001002, it is shown that part of the recirculation losses in the flow rate range (0.7–0.4)·Qopt is 25–30 % of the total hydraulic losses, while in the flow rate range (0.3–0.1)·Qopt it increases to 44 %. originality. Further development of the method for determining the recirculation power which is based on the results of numerical simulation of threedimensional fluid flow in the flowing part of the centrifugal pump, taking into account the circulation vortex processes at the outlet of the impeller. Practical value. Definition of the recirculation power in the power balance of hydraulic losses at the pump design stage. Taking account of the influence of the design parameters of the impeller on the value of recirculation.
