Modeling and forecasting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on socio-economic development

Abstract

У монографії розглянуто певні аспекти проблем, які виникли у світі у зв’язку з поширенням вірусу COVID-19. Проаналізовані підходи урядів різних держав до стримування розповсюдження небезпечних епідемій для стабілізації та покращання соціально-економічного становища. Авторами досліджені математичні та економічні моделі, а також сценарії виходу країн з кризи, спричиненої високими показниками захворюваності на COVID-19 та карантинними заходами. У монографії узагальнені особливості ряду моделей, які дають можливість спрогнозувати подальше поширення коронавірусу та його вплив та своєчасно ухвалювати ефективні управлінські рішення щодо протидії йому. Викладений доробок авторів допоможе в розробленні комплексних економіко-математичних моделей прогнозування впливу COVID-19 на соціально-економічний розвиток країн та окремих регіонів. The monograph deals with certain aspects of the problems in the world due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The governments' approaches in different states to curbing the spread of dangerous epidemics to stabilize and improve the socio-economic situation are analyzed. The authors investigate mathematical and economic models and scenarios for countries to emerge from the crisis caused by high rates of COVID-19 and quarantine measures. The monograph summarizes the features of models that allow predicting the further spread of the coronavirus and its impact and making significant managerial decisions to combat it. This research will help develop comprehensive economic and mathematical models for forecasting the effects of COVID-19 on the socio-economic development of countries and individual regions.
