Abstract |
The work deals with low-temperature photoluminescence and deformation luminescence (mechanolu-minescence) of a composite material based on fine disperse powder of phosphor SrAl2O4:(Eu2+, Dy3+) and photopolymerizing resin that is transparent in the visible region. It has been shown that at the low tem-perature (T=15÷200 K) the photoluminescence spectrum of SrAl2O4:(Eu2+, Dy3+) displays two wide, partial-ly overlapping bands with the maxima at λ1max517 nm and λ2max446 nm. The short-wave luminescence band (λ2max446 nm) has been found to undergo temperature quenching and to completely decay at T200 K. A mechanism of mechanoluminescence excitation has been suggested. It has been shown that the com-posite material exhibits high sensitivity to mechanical action.
