Thermal Annealing Effect on Optical Properties of the Cadmiun Telluride Films
    (Sumy State University, 2017) Mazur, T.M.; Makhniy, V.P.; Prokopiv, V.V.; Slyotov, M.М.
The thermal treatment effect on optical properties of cadmium telluride thin films was studied. By comparison of the optical transmission spectra and reflection of original and annealed films the formation of modified surfaces was detected. The possibility to get the intense photoluminescence, forming by the band-to-band recombination and transitions as a result of energy dimensional quantization of charge carriers was identified.

Structure and Optical Properties CdS and CdTe Films on Flexible Substrate Obtained by DC Magnetron Sputtering for Solar Cells
    (Sumy State University, 2017) Kopach, G.I.; Mygushchenko, R.P.; Khrypunov, G.S.; Dobrozhan, A.I.; Harchenko, M.M.
The paper describes investigate of crystal structure and optical characteristics of the CdS transparent window layers and the CdTe base layers, obtained by direct current magnetron sputtering on glass or polyimide substrate, and output parameters the flexible thin film solar cells based on them. The band gap in obtained hexagonal CdS films is Eg = 2.38-2.41 eV and optical transparency of CdS films is 80-90%. Conducting chloride treatment of CdTe layers, obtained at T < 300 °C, promotes wurtzite-sphalerite phase transition. Cooling ITO/CdS layers to room temperature before CdTe deposition, removal of the air and subsequent heating in vacuum to the required temperature of the substrate leads to an increase of the energy conversion efficiency and open circuit voltage of the polyimide/ITO/CdS/CdTe/Cu/Ag flexible solar cell.

The Surface Morphology of CdTe Thin Films Obtained by Open Evaporation in Vacuum
    (Sumy State University, 2017) Saliy, Y.P.; Nykyruy, L.I.; Yavorskyi, R.S.; Adamiak, S.
The different thicknesses CdTe thin films were obtained by method of open evaporation in vacuum on glass and silicon (100) substrates. The surface of films was investigated by AFM analysis. Applying the two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform and autocorrelation function, for the first time the patterns of the structure of the surface of cadmium telluride thin films formed during the vapor phase of condensation are studied. A periodic object grid is discovered. The grid period is related to the mismatch between lattice parameters of substrate and condensate.

Kinetic Phenomena and Thermoelectric Properties of Polycrystalline Thin Films Based on PbSnAgTe Compounds
    (Sumy State University, 2017) Ruvinskii, M.A.; Kostyuk, O.B.; Dzundza, B.S.; Yaremiy, I.P.; Mokhnatskyi, M.L.; Yavorskyy, Ya.S.
Thin polycrystalline films based on PbSnAgTe (LATT) compounds on mica-muscovite substrates are obtained. The dependences of conductivity, mobility of current carriers and specific thermoelectric power on temperature for these condensates are investigated. It is established that the mechanisms of transport of carriers on the intergrain boundaries dominate at low temperatures, and at higher temperatures the charge transport is determined by the volume of grain. The predominant scattering mechanism at higher temperatures is scattering on acoustic phonons.

Field-emission Properties of Ni-C Nanocomposite Films
    (Sumy State University, 2016) Arkhipov, A.V.; Gabdullin, P.G.; Mishin, M.V.; Protopopova, V.S.; Krel, S.I.; Drobinin, D.E.; Gnuchev, N.M.
Field-emission properties of Ni-C nanocomposite thin films were experimentally studied. The films were deposited at Si substrates using CVD technique with a metalloorganic precursor and were composed by nm-scale grains of metallic Ni bounded with a carbonic weakly-conducting matrix. In the samples with lower effective thickness, the Ni particles were separated from each other. Such films showed capability of facilitated emission with threshold field values as low as a few V/μm. Thicker coating samples, with metallic particle merged in a conductive layer, required annealing at 470-600 °С in vacuum to produce low-field emission current. The observed emission behavior agrees with the previously proposed model considering low-field emission from nanostructured carbonic materials as a multi-stage process involving generation of hot electrons at interface boundaries.

Influence of Urbach Energy with Solution Molarity on the Electrical Conductivity in Undoped ZnO Thin Films
(Sumy State University, 2016) Benramache, S.; Benhaoua, B.
This paper presents the results concerning the new correlation between electrical conductivity and Urbach energy was investigated as a function of solution molaritie in ZnO thin films. The model proposals were based on experimental data as discussed in our published paper. ZnO thin films were prepared into the ultrasonic spray method with different solution molarities on glass substrate at 350 °C. The measurement data's showing that the electrical conductivity of undoped ZnO thin films can be estimated by varying the Urbach energy and the concentration of ZnO solution, which were found that the correlate values of electrical conductivities are in qualitative agreements with experimental data's. Because, it was in high correlation coefficient can be varied in the range between 0.97-0.99 %. The high agreement was found in the calculation and achieved in Eq. (4) with maximum relative errors values were limited to zero %, due to the sign plus was found between parameters correlates.

Studies on Hall Effect and DC Conductivity Measurements of Semiconductor Thin films Prepared by Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD) method
(Sumy State University, 2015) Thirumavalavana, S.; Mani, K.; Suresh Sagadevan, S.
Semiconductors have various useful properties that can be exploited for the realization of a large number of high performance devices in fields such as electronics and optoelectronics. Many novel semiconductors, especially in the form of thin films, are continually being developed. Thin films have drawn the attention of many researchers because of their numerous applications. As the film becomes thinner, the properties acquire greater importance in the miniaturization of elements such as resistors, transistors, capacitors, and solar cells. In the present work, copper selenide (CuSe), cadmium selenide (CdSe), zinc selenide (ZnSe), lead sulphide (PbS), zinc sulphide (ZnS), and cadmium sulphide (CdS) thin films were prepared by chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. The prepared thin films were analyzed by using Hall measurements in Van Der Pauw configuration (ECOPIA HMS-3000) at room temperature. The Hall parameters such as Hall mobility of the material, resistivity, carrier concentration, Hall coefficient and conductivity were determined. The DC electrical conductivity measurements were also carried out for the thin films using the conventional two – probe technique. The activation energies were also calculated from DC conductivity studies.
