Item Review on the recent infectious diseases in the State of God’s own country(Academic Research and Publishing UG, 2023) Sahoo, K.K.; Rajamani, S.Тягар інфекційних і неінфекційних захворювань у Кералі зростає. Item Countries’ Vulnerability to COVID-19 Depending on the Health Behaviour Patterns of the Population(Sumy State University, 2023) Летуновська, Наталія Євгенівна; Летуновская, Наталия Евгеньевна; Letunovska, Nataliia Yevhenivna; Boliukh, V.The article analyses the factors determining the level of vulnerability of regions to the influence of pandemic threats. Statistical indicators for 2021-2022 regarding the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine were taken for analysis, namely the number of infected persons and the number of deaths per thousand of the population. Indicators in the field of healthy behaviour of the population were adopted as variable determinants (namely, the amount of healthy food consumption, sugar consumption, the number of people engaged in physical culture and sports, the number of smoking people and the proportion of obese people), for which a quantitative statistical base is available exhaustively for all 24 regions of the country. The study aims to confirm or refute the hypothesis regarding the existence of a connection between the regional behavioural patterns of the population in the health field and the region’s vulnerability to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the analysis, discriminant and canonical analyses were used, which were carried out in the STATISTICA software environment. Empirical indicators made it possible to confirm the hypothesis regarding a connection between regional behavioural patterns and the region’s level in terms of the number of deaths from COVID-19. The hypothesis about a possible dependence between behavioural patterns and the number of infected with COVID-19 was not confirmed – the discrimination model was statistically insignificant. This suggests that establishing dependencies requires more input parameters to describe the model. It was determined that the consumption of healthy foods (milk, berries, fish) influences the mortality rate from COVID-19 (high, medium or low). Also, indicators with a high degree of influence include the number of people engaged in physical culture and sports, and the proportion of people with obesity. The results of the study will be useful in the development of regional and national strategies to promote the formation of the resilience of territories to pandemic threats and in the selection of tools for working with the population within the framework of informational and educational campaigns for prevention of severe courses of diseases caused by epidemic factors.Item The Role and Place of the Healthcare System in the Formation of the National Brand(Sumy State University, 2022) Решетняк, Ярослав В'ячеславович; Решетняк, Ярослав Вячеславович; Reshetniak, Yaroslav Viacheslavovych; Grifo, S.In the view of the snowballing development of digitalization processes and post-industrial society, the service sector is the main element of sustainable economic development, where human capital plays a key role. In the study, the authors noted that the individual and his needs came to the fore. So, it`s started to play a more significant role in the methodology of evaluation of national brand indices. However, during a deeper analysis, the question arises whether such techniques consider all aspects of the socio-economic life of the individual or focus on some of its elements. The research on this issue became particularly acute during the global SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, when most of the socially active population was forced to work distance and spent more time at home and when their lives depended heavily on the effectiveness of national health systems. This study tried to determine the correlations between the efficacy of national healthcare systems and indicators used in the national brand indices. The methodology of this study involved classical scientific research methods such as systems analysis, scientific abstraction, synthesis, and statistical analysis. Besides, VOSviewer software has been used to analyze a significant number of scientific publications, which include keywords like healthcare and the national brand. The data for bibliometric analysis were retrieved from the Scopus scientometric database. This bibliographic analysis presents the findings on the research directions in the analyzed scientific literature scope. The obtained results allowed us to determine the chronology and geography of publications. The systematization of theoretical results of research issues of assessing the impact of the national health care system on the international image perception of the country showed that this issue is almost undiscovered in domestic and international scientific studies. At the same time, this problem is increasingly important in the practical sphere. To confirm this hypothesis, the authors provide a practical case on the example of the analysis of the methodology of evaluation of national brands based on the Anholt Ipsos Nation Brands Index (NBI) and Best Countries (by US News & World Report). They were analyzed through the prism of assessing the national healthcare system by the Global Health Security Index.Item COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign: A Bibliometric Analysis(Sumy State University, 2022) Каща, Марія Олексіївна; Каща, Мария Алексеевна; Kashcha, Mariia Oleksiivna; Kwilinski, A.; Petrenko, K.This study provides the bibliometric analysis of publications addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and preventive measures to overcome it. This study aims to analyze, systematize, and build clusters of world schools of thought that changed their research directions in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The relevance of solving the scientific problem is urgent to quickly restore the economy, education, tourism, and other spheres of society affected by the pandemic. The authors emphasized that vaccination is one of the effective ways to reduce COVID-19 morbidity. Therefore, the study sample was generated with articles indexed by keywords “COVID-19” and «vaccination» in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. The study period covers 2020-2021. To operate with the most relevant publications, the study sample was limited by the English publication language and subject areas, excluding the publications in the categories of medicine and pharmacology. The case study involved the VOSviewer software, Web of Science, and Scopus database analysis tools in analyzing the scientific background on the issue of trust in the vaccination campaign. The visualization of findings was conducted using the VOSviewer software tools. The obtained results showed most of the work was published by the scholars of American, English, Chinese, German and Italian affiliations. The study identified at least 10 research directions on the investigated topic: the reasons for differentiating the intentions to be vaccinated; attitudes towards vaccinations depending on gender, age, and social status; forecasting different recovering scenarios; consequences of misinformation and fight against misinformation; effectiveness of social pressure on the population; the role of social networks; sufficiency of using personal protective equipment; the self-responsibility in creating collective immunity; the need medical staff visits; testing the effectiveness of the vaccine, etc. The findings of the bibliometric analysis could be useful for further empirical studies to find cause-and-effect relationships and mathematical modeling of the reasons for vaccination refusal and predicting different pandemic scenarios.Item The Influence of the Covid-19 Pandemic on General Trends in the Functioning and Competitiveness of Private Clinics(Sumy State University, 2022) Котенко, Станіслав Ігорович; Котенко, Станислав Игоревич; Kotenko, Stanislav Ihorovych; Tambovceva, T.This article aims to examine the impact of the pandemic on competition in the medical services market of the Sumy region, which is ranked among the Ukrainian regions with small medical personnel and low socio-economic development. This study involved marketing research methods (surveys and content analysis), statistical methods for information processing, factor analysis, and alternatives analysis. The results unveiled the intense competition for patients and medical staff in the healthcare market of the Sumy region. The organization’s competitiveness before the pandemic was assessed by factors such as «the doctors’ treatment of patients and their qualifications» and «the availability of necessary medical services». During the pandemic, the essential factor in choosing a medical institution was «patient safety, reducing the risk of coronavirus». Before the pandemic, the competition between medical organizations was most influenced by the population paying capacity and the shortage of qualified medical personnel. Private clinics ranked below public clinics in delivering a wide range of medical services because of the lack of medical specialists. However, the pandemic has strengthened the position of private clinics through two factors. First, private clinics have expanded their range of services through narrow specialists who have moved from public institutions to private clinics. Second, private clinics have provided a higher level of client safety through a tight filter for patients with symptoms of coronavirus infection. Besides, using remote technologies by medical organizations has become a competitive advantage. The authors noted that remote technologies in healthcare are not common in the Sumy region and Ukraine in general, as patients distrust this service. This study is of practical value because it allows assessing the impact of global challenges on healthcare development in the regions to assess private medicine competitiveness changes. In addition to its practical value, private market research, especially in times of pandemic threat, confirms or rejects some theoretical hypotheses aimed at analyzing the performance of the private sector in health care facilities. This work opens new avenues for a deeper study of the similarities between private and public health facilities, especially in the face of legal and pandemic constraints.Item Distributive Politics of Medical Commodities: An Overview of Transaction Costs and State-Center Relations During India’s Second Wave(Sumy State University, 2021) Arnav, M.Using a transaction costs approach, this paper attempts to understand the allocation of medical oxygen during India’s second wave. In this background, it argues for transparency in allocative decision making of health related commodities. Through process tracing methodology, it focuses on the case of the oxygen crisis in Delhi at a time when different governments within India’s federal set-up accused each other of mismanagement of this commodity.Item Transformation of the Restaurant Business as a Result of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Improving the Security of Service and Maintaining the Health of Human Capital(Sumy State University, 2021) Маценко, Олександр Михайлович; Маценко, Александр Михайлович; Matsenko, Oleksandr Mykhailovych; Кубатко, Олександр Васильович; Кубатко, Александр Васильевич; Kubatko, Oleksandr Vasylovych; Bardachenko, V.; Demchuk, K.The study identified socio-economic problems in the restaurant business, analyzed the dynamics of its decline and recovery during the pandemic COVID-19, considered innovative trends in the transformation of restaurant management. Systematization of literature sources and approaches to the study of the impact of epidemics and pandemics on restaurant activities showed that until 2019, cases of infection of restaurant visitors occurred. However, they were isolated or local (regional) in nature and attracted the attention of most medical researchers.Item COVID-19 impact on the company’s development: a case of UNIT.City(Sumy State University, 2021) Мішеніна, Галина Анатоліївна; Мишенина, Галина Анатольевна; Mishenina, Halyna Anatoliivna; Kirichenko, D.; Puzemsky, V.This article addresses problems and directions of innovative activity of real national economy amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The current COVID-19 crisis has changed the supply and demand ratio. Economic recovery requires the right macroeconomic policy to support national economies, maintain economic and financial relationships between workers and enterprises, creditors and borrowers, suppliers, and end consumers. Therefore, there is a challenge to minimize the influence of the long-term COVID-19 crisis to avoid irreparable damage to people and companies due to job losses and mass bankruptcies.Item Basic financing principles of anti-covid measures: the case of the bank for international settlements.(Sumy State University, 2020) Таранюк, Каріна Вікторівна; Таранюк, Карина Викторовна; Taraniuk, Karina Viktorivna; Таранюк, Леонід Миколайович; Таранюк, Леонид Николаевич; Taraniuk, Leonid Mykolaiovych; Д`яконова, Ірина Іванівна; Дьяконова, Ирина Ивановна; Diakonova, Iryna IvanivnaThe study’s main purpose is to study the process of financing anti-COVID measures by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) during the pandemic COVID-19. Systematization of literature sources and approaches to solving the problem of low level of financial assistance in combating COVID-19, especially for developing economies, showed a need to identify positive and negative factors affecting the BIS during the COVID-19 pandemic. The relevance of solving this scientific problem is a need for priority funding health care to prevent the spread of viral infection COVID-19. The study of anti-COVID measures by BIS during the global pandemic was carried out in the following logical sequence: determining the relevance of the topic; analyzing the scientific background on the research topic; establishing the research methodological basis; providing conclusions and recommendations.
