Abstract The complex method of study on aerodynamics of vortex chambers with distributed tangential gas intake is proposed. There are new results of experimental research of average axial and transversal velocity profiles in dead end parts of vortex chambers that explain the composite current with shears, macrostructure and mechanism of “dead zone effect”.
