Abstract On the basis of literature data the authors show a quantitative increase of pleurisy with effusion syndrome (SPE). The diseases of a pancreas quite often are the reason of it. Almost in 2000 cases of SPE the authors have established its pancreatogenic genesis in 11 patients. In one of them the process has passed a chronic course which appeared the indication to simultaneous intervention: pleuroectomy and the combined lungs resection.
