Calculation and Designing of Centrifugal Pumps

Abstract

The manual reflects the achievements in designing centrifugal pumps of different types of domestic and foreign production and the basic tendencies of their improvement, selection of optimal design schemes, issues of technological design, choice of materials for the main parts, harmonization and standardization of centrifugal pumps design, and issues of pump certification. A particular attention is paid to the hydrodynamic calculations of flow parts, design and analysis of such structural elements as node balancing thrust and end seals. Also, the drives of centrifugal pumps, the basics of strength calculation, and dynamic stability of the rotor are considered. The book is intended for students of higher educational institutions of III–IV levels of accreditation (it can be used for studying “Theory of Hydraulics”, “Hydraulic Vane Machines”, and “Engineering Design of Pumps”, when writing term papers and theses), for graduate students and postgraduates, for engineering and technical personnel who are engaged in designing centrifugal pump.
