Abstract	У статті амбівалентний для людської свідомості концепт ”смерть” розглядається через інтерпретацію концептуальних метафор, які експлікують його когнітивне підґрунтя англомовними засобами. The article treats the concept of “death” as one of the universal human concepts. Cognitive background of the phenomenon under study is decoded through interpretation of conceptual metaphors that represent the notion of death by means of the English language.
