Abstract	У статті розглядаються основні підходи до визначення сутності інституційних інвесторів серед вітчизняних та зарубіжних науковців. На основі проведеного аналізу формулюється авторське визначення поняття “інституційний інвестор”, а також актуалізується роль та значення цих фінансових посередників на фінансовому ринку. The article reviews main approaches to the definition of institutional investors among domestic and foreign scholars. Based on this analysis authors' definition of "institutional investor" is formulated. Importance of this financial intermediaries and their role in the financial market is underlined.
