Abstract

Today, a significant number of foreign students receive their education in higher educational institutions of Ukraine. In order to master the language of the profession, foreign students must understand the language of instruction. In order to master a language as a foreign language, it is necessary to master four generally accepted types of speech activity, namely: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The problem of speaking is one of the most important in the methodology of teaching a foreign language. Speaking is communication in a foreign language, and therefore, the ability to speak and listen. The ability to listen to a text depends on many factors, including the recipient's interest, awareness, and life experience, as well as their ability to focus. The ability to perceive information well by ear is formed during the daily practice of communicating with native speakers. Therefore, it is impossible to choose for listening texts that contain a large number of unfamiliar words. During listening, students perform exercises that contribute to the development of language guesswork and vocabulary expansion.
