Abstract
У статті описаний механізм матричного моделювання концепту ПОЛІТИКА за методикою компонентного аналізу, на який екстраполюється когнітивна інтерпретація як абстрагування прагматично акцентованих контекстуальних компонентів (результатів опису ПОЛІТИКИ) до сем-доменів (елементів змісту концепту), компактно організованих за принципом ЛСП. Наукова розвідка виконана на базі дібраного корпусу висловлювань американських президентів та знаменитостей про досліджуваний концепт.
В статье представлен механизм матричного моделирования концепта ПОЛИТИКА по методике компонентного анализа, на который экстраполируется когнитивная интерпретация как абстрагирование прагматически акцентированных контекстуальных компонентов (результатов описания ПОЛИТИКИ) к семам-доменам (элементам содержания ПОЛИТИКИ), компактно организованных по принципу ЛСП. Научная разведка выполнена на материале корпуса высказываний американских президентов и знаменитостей об исследуемом концепте.
The article represents the mechanism of reconstructing the matrix model of the POLITICS concept on the basis of American English. In particular, a corpus sample of contexts of American presidents and celebrities is used to generate the domain nomenclature of POLITICS as structured information that is activated in mind of United States residents. The research is conducted via the methodology of component analysis whose essence consists in identifying 1 implicit integral seme (COORDINATION) and 6 explicit differential semes (FORM, SUBJECT, CIRCUMSTANCES, TOOL, RESULT, ASSESSMENT OF COORDINATION PARAMETERS) where the former is equated to the profiled concept while the latter is understood as the base. All semes are thematically arranged as lexical-semantical fields providing a full hierarchical domain division within the POLITICS concept itself. The implemented component analysis is combined with the cognitive interpretation by Z.D. Popova and I.A. Sternin (mental generalization of results in describing concept names, which is done to produce cognitive features as elements of concept content). Such a blend gives the author’s own idea to regard cognitive interpretation in matrix modelling as abstracting of pragmatically emphasized context components (results in describing the POLITICS concept) to semes-domains (elements of the POLITICS content) that are further sorted by lexical-semantic fields. A detailed explanation how this extrapolation works is shown by the author as typical cases when cognitive interpretation proved to be relevant to identify POLITICS domains. Firstly, interpretation of utterances was helpful in defining a true stated domain when there were several doubtful ones. Secondly, it was relevant for compact arranging of lexical-semantical fields as concept subdomains. Thirdly, cognitive interpretation contributed to define the inner organization of the ASSESSMENT domain. A visual macrostructure of the POLITICS matrix is revealed in the article as well.
