Тяглість історії й історія тяглості: українська філософсько-історична думка першої половини ХХ століття

Abstract

У монографії розкривається специфіка історіософських та епістемологічно-історичних поглядів українських інтелектуалів кінця ХІХ – середини ХХ століття. У широкому світоглядно-ідеологічному і філософсько-науковому контексті аналізуються два найзагальніші типи філософсько-історичного знання: емпірично-раціональне, яке пов’язується з позитивізмом і неокантіанством, та ірраціональне, в якому на перше місце виходять волюнтаристські концепції й почасти екзистенціальні мотиви.

В монографии раскрывается специфика историософских и эпистемологически-исторических взглядов украинских интеллектуалов конца XIX - середины ХХ века. В широком мировоззренчески-идеологическом и философско-научном контексте анализируются два общие типы философско-исторического знания: эмпирически рациональное, которое связывается с позитивизмом и неокантианством, и иррациональное, в котором на первое место выходят волюнтаристские концепции и отчасти экзистенциальные мотивы.

The main goal of this research is the historical reconstruction of philosophical and historical ideas of Ukrainian intellectuals of the first half of the 20th century, which is conducted in a wide historical context of this epoch. The sources for such reconstruction are philosophical works by M. Hrushevskyi, I. Franko, B. Kistyakivskyi, V. Lipinskyi, D. Dontsov, Y. Lipi, Y. Vassiyan, D. Chizevskyi, V. Petrov, M. Hvilyovyi, M. Shlemkevich. As a result of his research, the author comes to the conclusion that all philosophical and historical ideas in Ukrainian philosophy have two components: the philosophy of history and epistemology of history. Historical and philosophical ideas of Ukrainian thinkers of the first half of the 20th century also combine two paradigms: sociological or positivistic and existential or voluntarism. Philosophy of history as a type of substantial philosophy is a dominant type of knowledge for the majority of Ukrainian intellectuals, whose approaches are the object of analyses in this work. It is typical for philosophy of history that understanding of historical process possesses essential characteristics. Essentialism usually has the constant set of substantial features, which don’t depend on the flowing of time. Philosophy of history use great “out of history” spatial and temporal forms: Ukraine, the people, nation, “main stratum”, East, West, epoch, History. Anthropomorphous, organic and biological metaphors are used for proving of the idea of reality of the certain concept. Since there is an idea about unity of historical process, we could apply the notion of law to it. The majority of Ukrainian philosophers of history are sure that there are certain laws of development of history. And only as an exception it is possible to apply to history the idea of destiny instead of the idea of law (D. Chizevskyi). The destiny in this case is a kind of irrational substitute of rational law. The strict determination of events, which is essential for law is typical for representatives of both positivistic paradigm (I. Franko, V. Petrov) and paradigm of voluntarism. In the last case the law is connected with the idea of will (Y. Vassiyan, V. Lipinskyi).
