Структурно-семантичні аспекти перекладу багатокомпонентних термінів в англомовних науково-технічних текстах

Abstract

Наукова проблема роботи полягає у тому, що, незважаючи на увагу науковців до термінології, ряд теоретичних питань не дістали розв'язання: немає єдиного визначення терміна, терміносистеми, оптимальної довжини багатокомпонентного терміна. Мета: вивчення структурних, семантичних та перекладацьких аспектів функціонування англомовних науково-технічних багатокомпонентних термінів. Теоретичне значення: визначення ролі багатокомпонентних термінів в науково-технічних текстах у сучасній лексиці англійської мови; виявлення сучасних тенденцій термінотворення; створення підґрунтя для подальшого, більш всебічного і глибокого вивчення даної теми. Результати дослідження свідчать, що використання багатокомпонентних термінів в англомовних науково-технічних текстах беззаперечне і необхідне: як у плані дефінітивності, так і у передачі, отримуванні та поширенні наукової інформації серед науковців і спеціалістів окремої галузі. Головні висновки дослідження: терміни різні щодо свого складу, походження і способу творення; структурно-семантичні властивості термінів проявляються в середовищі словотворення; усі термінологічні одиниці діляться на дві групи – однокомпонентні та багатокомпонентні терміни; використання словосполучень для називання наукових понять – найпродуктивніший спосіб творення багатокомпонентних термінів у наш час; перекладацькі трансформації допомагають при перекладі англомовного науково-технічного тексту максимально розкрити оригінал зі збереженням норм мови перекладу.

The scientific problem of the work is that, despite the attention of scientists to terminology, a number of theoretical questions have not been resolved: there is no single definition of a term, term system, optimal length of a multi-component term. Goal: study of structural, semantic and translational aspects of the functioning of English-language scientific and technical multi-component terms. Theoretical meaning: definition of the role of multicomponent terms in scientific and technical texts in the modern vocabulary of the English language; identification of modern trends in terminology; creating a foundation for further, more comprehensive and in-depth study of this topic. The results of the research show that the use of multi-component terms in English-language scientific and technical texts is absolutely necessary: both in terms of definitiveness and in the transmission, reception and dissemination of scientific information among scientists and specialists in a particular field. The main conclusions of the study: the terms are different in their composition, origin and way of creation; structural and semantic properties of terms are manifested in the area of word formation; all terminological units are divided into two groups - single-component and multi-component terms; the usage of word collocations to name scientific concepts is the most productive way of creating multi-component terms in our time; translation transformations help in the translation of an English-language scientific and technical text in order to reveal the original text as much as possible while preserving the norms of the translation language.
